Quick History

SCR Roof Maintenance, formally known as Solar Chem Roofing, was formed back in 1976. At this time there was no one in the market that focused on the maintenance and care of roof tiles. The service started with a few workers going from door to door offering a chemical roof cleans and spreading the word about how important it was to take care of your roof and protect it from the elements.

The business grew as the industry became more prominent. The idea of using chemicals to protect your roof from the sun brought about the name Solar Chem Roofing, which now has roofing contractors around the North Island.

From 1976 right up to 2011 SCR Roof Maintenance has been proactive about providing customers with top-notch service that earns referrals and repeat business. With time tested products, excellent service and a team that have been in the business for over 30 years, you can’t go past SCR Roof Maintenance.

The Team

Steve Ryan – Managing Director

Steve started here at SCR Roof Maintenance in 1984 doing water blasting. He then moved into roof coatings and onto marketing and managing the business. In 2001 he bought the business from previous owner Pete who still works in sales and has been here since 1976.

Steve has a wealth of knowledge and has seen what works and what doesn’t when it comes to roofs. He is passionate about giving customers the best quality service and an effective solution to their roofing problem. With 27 years experience, Steve is the guy to trust with this all important part of your property.
